Art for everyday objects

Context, reluctantly provided.

The art is carefully selected, and every product is made to order.

01

Where can I find the artwork information?

Each artwork page includes the artist or maker, title, date, and a link to the original source record. The full sourcing approach lives on the Art & Sources page.

02

Can I request an artwork?

Yes. Browse The Met Open Access collection, send us the exact artwork link, and tell us what you want it on. We will verify the rights record, image quality, and product fit. If it passes, we will prepare it for the store.

03

How do I choose a product?

Choose an artwork first. Its page shows every product currently available for that exact artwork, along with prices and options.

04

Will every artwork be on every product?

No. Each work is evaluated for each surface and size. A detailed painting may belong on canvas, a panoramic scene may wrap a mug, and a clear portrait may read best on a shirt or tote.

05

Do you add sayings to the art?

Usually not. The default is image-only artwork with no slogan, faux museum label, or explanation on the product face.

06

Which products are available?

Available products vary by artwork and may include T-shirts, mugs, tote bags, canvas, blank art cards, tumblers, and blankets.

Request an artwork.

Browse The Met Open Access collection, then email the artwork link and the product you want. A request enters our review process; it does not guarantee that the image will print well or qualify for every product.
