Serious art. Ordinary objects.
No Context Gallery puts visually specific public-domain and Open Access artwork into everyday life—usually without a slogan, explanation, or attempt to make it behave.
Art first.
The image must be interesting before a product mockup exists. Obscure, odd, beautiful, intense, and unexpectedly specific beats familiar wall-calendar art.
Evidence first, too.
Every production candidate keeps its artist or maker, title, date, object number, source, rights statement, original dimensions, direct image URL, and checksum.
The surface matters.
We choose the product for the artwork. Detailed compositions may belong on canvas, horizontal scenes may wrap mugs, and strong distance-reading images can become shirts or totes. Cards reward an entirely different scale.
